Why Don't You Love Me

Hey everybody I am back with Beyonce's new video she has out now for her song "Why Don't You Love Me" from her I AM...Sasha Fierce album. The track was only released on certain editions of the album therefore this is a new song and some its not but yet still a great song. The track is a up beat song about a man not appreciating what his woman is bringing to the table. This new video is a good way to keep her fans wanting more while she is away working on new material (smart). Feel free to comment.

Mateo: Get To Know Me

Let me start off by saying that technology has come a long way! Your probably wondering why I made that statement, well that's because I came across this artist via Twitter and I think he is a real talent. His name is Mateo and he has several mixtapes, with "Underneath The Sky: Chapter 3" being the latest one. Currently you can catch him on iTunes with his "Get To Know Me (Live)" and I must say that this is music truly worth paying for so go get it. The genre he is under is R&B/Soul but if you get his latest mixtape "Underneath The Sky: Chapter 3" he does remixes to popular songs like Lady GaGa's "Bad Romance", Drake's "Forever" and Jay-Z's "Empire State of Mind" you will see that he could crossover to any genre he wants because he knows how to make a song his own. He has a honest and real voice that will keep you wanting more. I just wanted to recommend this artist to you all and urge you to take the time out and check out Mateo and spread the word about him. So I will leave you all with a video that someone made for his remix of Drake's "Forever".

Kanye Controversy

There has been a tremendous amount of people talking about how Kanye stole Taylor Swift’s moment away from her and how he should be blackballed in the industry or banned from award shows so I wanted to share my feelings about the situation. The same way that people feel Kanye crossed the line I have the same feeling toward Jay Leno for trying to involve Kanye’s mother in the situation. I felt that it was disrespectful and uncalled because Jay Leno had no right to involve something that is so personal to Kanye. I’m sure that Jay Leno did not know Kanye’s mother therefore trying to involve someone who was and still is a big part of his life was uncalled for especially being that Kanye’s mother is no longer alive. If Kanye should had to apologize to Taylor then Jay Leno should have to apologize to Kanye for involving something that shouldn’t have been involved. Yes, Kanye was wrong but the media is over dramatizing the situation. I don't want to see clips of that VMA moment on my local news because that has nothing to do with things going on in my local area. I just feel that it all has gotten way out of hand and all these other celebrities and people in general can say what they want but at the end of the day this matter is between Kanye and Taylor. Kanye and Taylor are the only people that have to live with this but the media acts as if Kanye should pay for that moment for the rest of his life (which I don't agree with). What Kanye did has nothing to do with his ability to make great music so his career should not even be a factor because this situation involves Kanye the "man" not his music. What Kanye did has been done and we cannot rewind the hands of time so lets move forward and stop dwelling on a situation that can't be undone. And no I am not trying to down play what Kanye did but I feel that there are way too many people getting involved with a situation that have no business getting involved with. Let Kanye live his life because at the end of the day nobody knows what he is going through or things he is dealing with but him. Taylor has the choice of accepting the apology Kanye gave or she can reject it. Everybody makes poor decisions at some point in their lives but "what can we do?" and the answer to that is "nothing" because what's done is done. You can only try to make your wrongs right and that's all you can do and that is what Kanye did so lets not tear him down for trying. But that is my opinion, feel free to share yours but remember to be respectful.

VMA Awards 2009

First off I would just like to say that the opening tribute to the King of Pop, Michael Jackson, was so great that I can’t find the proper words to truly express how wonderful and heartfelt it was. Madonna started it off with a speech about her dear friend Michael and then a swarm of dancers hit the stage to show off some of the King’s most memorable dance moves. Then the performance everyone was squirming in their seats to see, Janet hit the stage to perform Scream and everyone in the arena (and I’m sure everyone who was at home watching were as well) went crazy. As Janet mimicked her brothers dance moves in sync with video being played behind her the crowd continued to cheer and go wild. It was a great performance, one of the best tributes yet (classic).

Lady Gaga showed her creative ways while performing her latest song Paparazzi. Green Day also performed and did a wonderful job. They made sure to try to involve their fans in their performance by inviting them all on stage (or at least the ones who could fit). There was a lot of high energy during their performance. But the big shock of the night came when Kanye walked on stage during Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech and said that Beyoncé should have one for Best Female Video instead of Taylor (I know what your thinking, WOW). Some think that Kanye was wrong for doing that while others feel that he was simply telling the truth.

So that left a mark for a while because people booed his name when he was listed as one of the nominees in one of the categories. But once Beyoncé stepped on the stage people couldn’t help but jump to their feet when she performed her hit Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It). There was crazy energy in the building during her performance.

Then Pink later hit the stage and showed her singing ability by doing acrobatic moves while performing (beautifully done). Fast foreword to Beyoncé winning for Video Of The Year with her video for Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It) and during her acceptance speech she talked about how she felt when she first won her first award and felt it was important for Taylor to come back out and finish her acceptance speech. It was truly a great moment and Beyonce proved to everyone that she is truly a class act. Taylor got to finish her speech that was earlier interrupted by Kanye and got a huge applause from the crowd (beautiful moment). Lastly to rap up some of the night’s highlights was the closing performance made by Jay-Z and Alicia Keys. They performed a track called Empire State Of Mind from his current release, Blueprint 3. It was what everyone thought it would be and more. YOU HAVE TO LOVE MUSIC!!! THANKS MTV FOR AN ENTERTAINING NIGHT OF BEAUTIFUL MUSIC.

The Intro...

The purpose of this blog is to give people a different perspective of things within the music industry. I have seen a lot of negative things being said about certain artists or things in the industry and I want to give a more positive perspective on things. This is a time where we should uplift each other in the music industry especially with the state that music is in now. People are constantly tearing down some the artists in the industry when they have no idea what goes on in the industry, let alone what it actually takes to be in an industry like the music industry. My educational background is in the music industry and I have had the pleasure to meet some well-known people in the industry and would like to share my insight with you all. I encourage people to comment on the post so that I can also get your perspective on how things may seem to you, but please keep it positive.
